Event Five of the Betfair European Tour saw Midlothian’s Michael Leslie eliminated by eventual winner of the tournament, world number 10 Ding Junhui.

The teenager from Bonnyrigg exited in the first round after losing 4-0 to the Chinese ace.

However he feels he played well in what was only his third televised match and his first professional outing on home soil.

Keen to thank all those who made the trip to the Ravenscraig Sports Facility, Michael said: “It was good to have a such a big travelling support. They were getting behind me during the match and although I didn’t get a result they all seemed to enjoy themselves. Afterwards we all jumped on the coach and went back to the sports bar for a drink. I’d like to say a huge thank you to them all.”
