Whitehill Welfare had to come from 2-0 down to beat Castle Douglas side Threave Rovers 5-2 in the Lowland League on Saturday.

Nicoll put the home side ahead on 14 minutes when he spotted Bryan Young off his line and his shot found the back of the net.

Degnan doubled their advantage seven minutes later when he capitalised on a missed clearance.

However, things soon looked a lot brighter for Welfare when Wayne McIntosh rounded the home goalkeeper to score on 27 minutes.

‘Wayno’ was on fire and he glanced in a headed equaliser from Andrew Kidd’s corner two minutes later.
