The row over the loss of council staff’s market supplement payment rumbles on, with Midlothian’s Labour councillors seeking answers.
In April this year more than 100 Midlothian Council staff, including bin men and specialist sports instructors, lost these additional payments they got on top of their hourly rates.
A council spokesman told the Advertiser that they had 82 gym instructors on the books prior to the changes, and now have 65.
Some 4,207 classes have taken place, and 568 were cancelled.
The spokesman added: “We are currently reviewing their terms and conditions and we’ve recently improved their pay grade.”
