A new photographic exhibition has opened at the National Mining Museum Scotland (NMMS), the culmination of a six month competition.
The Midlothian Natural Photography Competition was set-up to celebrate the Year of Natural Scotland 2013, and all the winners are now on display at the Newtongrange visitor attraction.
The contest covered four categories, each of which was adopted from the key themes of Year of Natural Scotland.
Gillian Rankin, marketing and events officer at NMMS, welcomed the exhibition.
She said: “Photography is a wonderful way to appreciate what we take for granted every day.
“We were absolutely delighted with the quality of entries and the judges had a tough job selecting the winners.
“The end result is a magnificent photography exhibition which will be open to the public until May 2014.”
