A new drama group has created a bit of a buzz in and around Newtongrange and you can get involved in their first production.
Midlothian Pit Pony Productions Newtongrange was started by Paul Wilson, despite the care worker having no drama experience.
Open auditions take place on October 30 from 7-8:30pm in the Dean Tavern for their performance of The Steamie, to be performed at Newbattle High School in June.
Paul explained why he founded the drama group.
He said: “I just thought there was a need for it in the local area. So I put something on the What’s On In Newtongrange Facebook page and it really escalated from there.
“We have people from all walks of life, over 30 members and a strong committee, it has been really quick. It’s really took off.
“Anyone with a genuine interest can get involved. It doesn’t have to be on stage, it can be helping backstage with costumes, lighting, music, anything.”
