A selection of local businesses will be selling their wares on Saturday in Newtongrange at the first ever Handmade Midlothian event.

Small handcraft business owners Nell Nash and Ragan Gibson recently started the Handmade Midlothian group to support and form a network of small businesses, whilst raising money for local charities in Midlothian.

Nell said: “We have hand selected local businesses that sell unique and high quality handmade products. It’s our hope to reconnect the local community with the abundance of great small businesses in Midlothian selling handmade products.

“We’ll have handmade children’s clothing, carpentry, cut glass, handmade cosmetics and loads more stalls.”

The showcase on Saturday at Newtongrange Church from 12-4pm will give a percentage of takings to Bright Sparks. Nell believes the event will also benefit businesses and potential customers.
