A local women’s group is to hold a Christmas fair on Saturday to raise funds for two charities which mean a lot to its members.
The Women’s Health Organisation (WHO) will hold the fundraiser at Gorebridge Church Hall from 10am to 1pm, to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust and Women’s Aid.
Various treats including Funky Chunky Chocolate, Susie’s Soap, arts and craft stalls, tombola, home baking and jewellery stalls will be on offer.
Frances McLean explained more about why WHO decided to organise this charity event.
She said: “We are holding this to support Women’s Aid, and we also chose Teenage Cancer Trust because one of our members’ relatives passed away from cancer, so it’s all to raise money for those two charities.
“We have had coffee mornings in the past to raise money for good causes so we try to fundraise for charity in any way we can.
“We have got quite a few tables filled up for Saturday. So that’s over £100 raised already. And hopefully we can get a bit more.
“Every little helps.”
The Women’s Health Organisation Christmas fairtakes place on Saturday, at 10am, £1 admission includes refreshments.
