Discover the hottest emerging talents in jazz

Dutch band Tin Men and the Telephone deliver a fun, interactive show, which the audience controls linked into a special app - the future of jazz revealed. Young Scottish musicians show just why Glasgow is regarded as such a hot bed of jazz excitement: Fergus McCreadie, Liam Shortall, Harry Weir all deliver new projects. Enjoy a late night hang with two DJs Samedia Shebeen and Rebecca Vasmant. Gil Scott-Heron paved the way for a generation of rap revolutionaries and the Jazz Bar’s Aki Remally pays tribute to his musical genius.

Discover jazz’s rich heritage

Join Festival contributor Norrie Thomson as he charts the evolution of jazz in Edinburgh through his extensive set of concert recordings. With the Scottish Jazz Archive and Scottish musicians, delve into the past, present and future of trad jazz with video interviews and a round table discussion. Rose Room celebration their 10th anniversary with a special video they pay homage to the music of The Hot Club. The singer Katie Whitaker has blazed a trail and she delivers her concert inspired by Etta James. Alison Affleck’s band celebrates traditional jazz as New Orleans pianist Joplin Parnell joins her Gin Mill Genie Band - as they say in New Orleans, "laissez les bons temps rouler!"

All the way from Nashville, singer/guitarist Stacy Mitchhart plays a special concert just for EJBF Online, whilst singer Nicole Smit takes time out of her birthday celebrations to play a brand new duo set with Charlie Wild. Edinburgh blues stars Tim Elliott, Sandy Tweeddale, Jed Potts are also featured.

George Cecile has been making wave with her blend of standards and new material. Luca Manning recently won the best newcomer award at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards. Edinburgh favourite Lorna Reid delivers her hit show Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered.
