He is 28 years old and described himself as “funny, outgoing, confident” and “what the villa needs”.

His Instagram feed (@jamieclayton9) shows him having fun in various clubs, doing some globetrotting and - of course - working out topless at the gym. His very first Instagram photo, posted on 2 March 2013, shows Jamie posing with Geordie Shore star Gaz Beadle.

Jamie made his villa debut in last night’s episode (Tuesday 11 February).

His ideal woman

Talking about his ideal woman, Jamie said, “Attraction gets me interested and then it’s the personality that keeps me interested.

“I tend to go for chatty girls, I need someone who can hold a conversation and have a laugh and someone who I can trust. I want a loyal girl.”

Talking about the other islanders currently in the villa, Jamie revealed who he has his eye on, “I fancy Demi and Shaughna. Demi talks all the time, she’s out there, gorgeous and bubbly so I like that about her.

“Shaughna, she’s a good looking girl and doesn’t beat around the bush, I like the direct approach.”

Upon entering the villa, Jamie invited both Demi and Shaughna out on separate dates.

Love Island has had its fair share of Scottish islanders over the years.

This season has introduced us to Paige Turley, a singer from Fauldhouse in West Lothian and Wallace Wilson, a personal trainer from Inverness.

Last season saw Anton Danyluk, a gym owner from Airdrie, get quite far in the show.

The season before that also introduced us to Laura Anderson, a flight attendant from Stirling.

The voice of the show, Iain Stirling is also a comedian from Edinburgh.
