"But we’re just getting started, and I’m looking forward to seeing how we continue to play our role in this community in 2021.”

Assistant manager Steven Cessford spoke of the store’s efforts to be a good neighbour and engage with locals.

He said: “Community is so important to the team at Dalkeith. Throughout the year, the team have supported local food banks, donating food stock and collecting at Christmas time to ensure vital support is offered to those that need it most.

"We are also big supporters of Ronald McDonald House Charity, raising money all-year round to support families with children in hospital.

“As a relatively new restaurant, being a good neighbour has also been a priority.

"We actively work with Police Scotland to manage any traffic issues, have engaged with local residents through the MP, and have a great working relationship with the local Tesco.

"This year the team provided extra bins in and around the area to help tackle litter. This is on top of the daily litter patrols the team undertake, picking up all litter in the surrounding areas.”
