Healthy Tots , the Midlothian company which specialises in providing fresh and nutritious hot meals to local private nurseries , says business is booming.

The company has just ordered a further four new Nissan all-electric eNV200 vans from Straiton-based Alex F Noble & Son, to add to its busy delivery fleet.

Healthy Tots, based at the Midlothian Innovation Centre just outside Roslin, already has four Nissan eNV200 electric vans in constant use, but rapidly rising demand for its produce across the region has led to a doubling of its fleet to eight vehicles, all of them 100 per cent electric .

Jonathan Robertson, the owner/director of Healthy Tots Ltd, said: “We’ve been running a fleet of four Nissan eNV200 electric vans since the end of last year and found them to be very cost-effective and extremely capable all-round vehicles. However, to keep pace with the increasing demand for our services, we needed more of the same vehicle so we’ve now ordered another four. All eight vehicles feature the increased capacity 40kWh battery, so we will now get a greater number of deliveries done even more quickly and easily than before.”
