Bespoke photography tours in classic cars now being offered in Edinburgh as friends team up to launch new business

But now, after several projects together, they have potentially created a real winner for the Instagram age - by offering bespoke photography tours of Edinburgh’s most beautiful vistas... all from the back of iconic cars like a ‘64 Cadillac.

Edinburgh Photography Adventures will offer a tour of the city and photography lessons from John’s 11-strong fleet of limousines and classic cars which also includes a 1955 Lincoln from Arizona.

Open top cars are also included but these are of course dependent on the city’s weather.

Tony and John created the business while on a bike ride together discussing the effects of covid-19 on the wedding industry.

Now, the pair are combining forces to create a business which they hope will be a fun activity for visitors to try during their stay in the Capital.

John said: “I’ve always been interested in classic cars as a hobby so to be able to use them and bring them back to life for this business is brilliant.”

He has been running Edinburgh Classic Wedding Cars for the past three years but formerly worked for another private car company for 11 years.

There will also be two other chauffeurs along with John who have undergone tourism training and licensing who will be able to share their own knowledge of Edinburgh with visitors.

Tony has more than 25 years of experience capturing everyone from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Keira Knightley and working as a picture editor for various regional and national newspapers.

He has also received various accolades throughout the years including winning Scottish News Photographer of the Year and being highly commended at the Kodak Wedding and Portrait Photographer of the Year Awards in 2010.

He said: “People have always told me to share my skills, knowledge and passion for photography with others. Photography is so popular now but a lot of people don’t know how to get the most out of it, so for me to be able to enthuse other people into doing it is great.”

Keen to cover the main tourist attractions, Tony and John also want to take customers into lesser known nooks and crannies which make for good pictures.

The tours can be catered to suit an individual or group’s interests if necessary with prices starting from £400 for a minimum of three hours.

The entrepreneurs have plans to expand into different areas of Scotland in the future but for now, Edinburgh tours can be booked at either tonymarshphotography.com or via phone on 07738462808.
