Malt & Hops on The Shore promised “cool, clean fresh real ale”, asking regulars to take ‘wide-necked’ containers and to queue two metres apart outside with only one person at a time allowed inside.

The pub opened for takeaway last Wednesday and Friday and yesterday from 2pm to 3pm.

Last month it emerged police had spoken to the owners but determined no breach of lockdown rules had been committed, and allowed them to continue.

The pub previously posted on its Facebook page: “2-3pm Wed, Frid, Sat. Cask & Draught available at scandalously low prices. Grab yourself a container & enjoy a proper pint. Social distancing, one in at a time, all that good stuff. Support the local. Cheers”
