Evans Halshaw Edinburgh stalwarts celebrate long service

A CAR dealership has marked the long service of several of its dedicated employees.

Ford retailer, Evans Halshaw Edinburgh, is celebrating the work of three loyal team members, who have clocked up an impressive 70 years of service within the business.

Ten years of service has been completed by Ross Alexander, who started his automotive career as technician before progressing to prep supervisor.

Racking up 25 years of service is purchase ledger assistant Pamela Bruce, who joined the dealership in 1991 as bodyshop assistant.

Topping the long service leaderboard, however, is technician Grant Jenkinson, having joined the team back in 1981.

Grant is celebrating a fantastic 35 years with Evans Halshaw.

Grant said: “Since I joined in 1981, I have thoroughly enjoyed every day of working here.

“My loyal service is a testament to how enjoyable it is to work here and I want to thank every single team member for contributing to my wonderful memories here at the dealership – long may it continue.”

Jim Brown, dealer principal at Evans Halshaw Edinburgh, added: “I want to thank Ross, Pamela and Grant for all their hard work over the years.

“Their commitment has meant thousands of customers have left the forecourt happy and they have been a huge credit to the dealership’s continued success.

“Their dedication will always make them an asset to the team and we look forward to many more years with them all.”

Meanwhile, the dealership is hoping to add some new recruits who may one day be honoured for long service.

A jobs fair will take place at the Hilton Hotel Edinburgh Airport from 4-8pm on Wednesday, April 13.

Adrian Healy, dealer principal at Evans Halshaw Renault Edinburgh, said: “It’s great when we are able to add to our team and create new jobs within communities local to our dealerships.

“We’re always looking for talented people to grow our expanding team and I would encourage anyone with an interest in sales or mechanics to come along to the open day.

“The recruitment day is a chance for prospective and experienced candidates to have a relaxed chat with the team, get a feel for the roles available, find out about our training and progression opportunities as well as the company and what we do.”
