Everything in the garden is lovely for Loanhead restaurant’s full re-opening

Scotland’s Curry Restaurant of the Year is set to welcome customers indoors for the first time this year, and has also improved its outdoor space.

A colour palette of shrubs and hanging garlands characterises the outdoor area at the Radhuni. Powerful heaters keep them warm in cool weather.

“We’ve worked hard on developing our outdoor area. Customers eating there could be forgiven for thinking they’re in the Mediterranean!”, said Habibur Khan, managing partner of The Radhuni in Loanhead.

The 120 seat restaurant, which also won the 2020 Scottish Award for Outstanding Community Service during the pandemic, will start serving customers indoors with alcohol from next Tuesday (May 18) as the Government relaxes Covid restrictions.

Habibur added: “We have a great team here and are looking forward enormously to welcoming customers indoors and outdoors from May 18 onwards.”

"Staff are regularly tested, sanitation procedures are extensive, and cross-contamination is rigorously avoided. We want all customers to have the best and safest dining experience.”

Last year Radhuni and its sister restaurant Itihaas in nearby Dalkeith donated £10,000 worth of free meals to NHS staff and earlier this year gave away 3,000 takeaway meals to more pandemic frontline workers.

Staff and customers also raised more than £1,200 for the charity Children 1st after donating 25p from each takeaway meal.

Radhuni, in Clerk Street, is open from 12 to 2 pm and 4.30 to 10.30 pm from Tuesday to Saturday and 2.30 to 10 pm on Sundays. It is closed on Mondays.
