At around 4am on Saturday, ‘opportunist’ thieves broke into clothing shop Rosy Penguin on Morningside Road, smashing the glass front door and bleeding all over the store.
Judith Campbell, 45, Rosy Penguin owner, said she had no idea what was taken from her store as the police forensic team was currently taking blood samples at the scene.

"When I walked home, I found three empty bags of my stock on the street on Morningside Drive but I just can’t tell until I get in.
"They bled over everything, so we can’t touch anything.
"It looks like an opportunist not a targeted thing as they’ve just made a complete mess.
"There were bikes strewn on the pavement so they might have used that to smash the door but I don’t know.”

Hide AdMs Campbell is hoping she can go into the shop later on Saturday to weigh up the damage done to her business.
Police were able to react to the incident as officers were already called out to another incident at NKD Pizza, just around the corner, which is currently boarded up.
Ms Campbell said: “I don’t know if the two are related but they spotted my door on the way to the pizza place.”
Talking about her reaction to the incident, Ms Campbell said: “It’s just exhausting. I’ve had a lot to deal with like everybody during the pandemic. Then this happens.

"It’s just so annoying. People don’t have any money in shops anymore. They think we do and then they wreck the place.”
There are three staff, including Ms Campbell, who work at the Morningside store which sells womenswear and accessories.
Ms Campbell said that customers have commented that they were outraged at the break-in.
