Fife Creamery supplies to the hotel, catering, retail and butchery markets right across Scotland.

Rapid expansion means the Kirkcaldy wholesale food firm, which supplies convenience stores, butchers, and the foodservice sector in Scotland, has a rare vacancy for a buyer.

Thanks to huge investment from the family-run firm, which has been in business for almost 70 years, they are growing their team. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience as a buyer, or a desire to transition into a buying role from similar positions within the food industry. Additional in-house training will be given to the successful candidate if required.

About Fife Creamery

This firm is committed to its customers and its colleagues, and has many team members who have spent their entire careers with the business. This includes sales director Steve Appolinari, who said: “We are a family run firm and are proud to hold those values dear as we have for 67 years. I have been with Fife Creamery for 38 years, and there are many more like me in the business who have stayed because they love working here.”

“We are looking for the right person to join our family, and be a successful part of the buying team.”

The firm has invested massively in new cold storage facilities, an innovation hub, sustainability, and a fleet of environmentally efficient vehicles. It has also recruited key people in emerging areas of the business, to help support the rapid expansion plans.

Steve added: “We need someone with excellent communication skills and the personality to fit in well with our experienced team in Kirkcaldy, but also with all our sales team, suppliers and clients. They will be working with existing supply channels and helping to maximise trading opportunities.

“The ideal candidate will have relevant industry experience; even if someone doesn’t match 100 per cent, we would be happy to train and develop additional skills if everything else is there.”

With clients in hotels, restaurants and sandwich bars, butchers, further education and the NHS, those communication skills, along with the ability to slot into a busy buying team, are vital. The customer base is right across Scotland, including the islands, and the buying team source new products from across the UK and Europe.
