Around 120 works of art created by them during lockdown are being hung from the railings in front of the Edinburgh school this weekend to give children the chance to show their work in public instead of the usual celebrations for the end of the academic year.

The art can be viewed on 20 and 21 June between 9am and 4pm.

With the school closed because of the Covid-19 virus, local business Project Coffee, has kindly allowed families to drop off artwork ahead of the exhibition.

Children as young as five have had the chance to exhibit alongside professional artists who have donated pieces to the show including Catherine Rayner, Donald Provan, John Heywood, Brian Henderson and Cassandra Harrison.

Parent volunteers will look after the art and ensure social distancing over the weekend and parent curator Fiona Reid has been wrapping all the pieces in cellophane in case it rains.

All works can be viewed online and will be sold in an online auction in aid of school funds by Friday 26 June at 7pm on the website here.
