School given thumbs up

EDUCATION inspectors have praised a school for providing an excellent example of Curriculum for Excellence implementation.

St Margaret’s Academy in Livingston, West Lothian, received evaluations of nothing other than “excellent” or “very good” from inspectors after its inspection in January.

After every inspection, Education Scotland reports to parents by letter, which stated that pupils at the school learned and achieved very well within a “caring and inclusive learning environment”.

It also said that pupils were friendly and well-behaved, with most engaging enthusiastically in their learning.

The letter added that they respond positively to group tasks, and in presentations and performances. The school’s teamwork approaches were described as exemplary.
