Consultation on joint health and social care services

A CONSULTATION over plans to integrate adult health and social care services has been launched in West Lothian.

West Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership (CHCP) has invited members of the public to respond to the proposals, which were published by the Scottish Government in May.

The government said it wanted to change the way the NHS and local authorities worked together, in partnership with the third and independent sectors, to improve care for adults.

Jim Forrest, director of West Lothian CHCP, said: “This consultation exercise provides an opportunity for local people to have their say on the future development of services both locally and nationally.”

The CHCP manages a range of NHS and council services in West Lothian including community care, personal care, residential care and health visiting.

The closing date for responses is September 11. They can be made at the CHCP website at www.westlothianchcp.org.uk/
