Coronavirus in Scotland: Three further deaths brings Scottish death toll to 2,273

Nicola Sturgeon has announced that further three people have died after testing positive for coronavirus bringing the total to 2,273.

Also, there are 15, 156 patients who have tested positive for the virus, up 55 in the last 24 hours, with 1,269 patients in hospital and 40 in intensive care.

The Scottish government statistics include all those who have tested positive for Covid-19.

The National Records of Scotland, who release their statistics every Wednesday, include all cases where coronavirus is mentioned on the death certificate.

By the NRS measures, there have been over 3,500 deaths in Scotland due to the virus.
