The Scottish Government has released the latest statistics on coronavirus showing positive cases in the Lothian’s has now reached 2,803.

The Lothian health board shows that currently there are 135 people in the county’s hospitals, with six people in intensive care.

Across Scotland, another five deaths brings the death toll under the government metric to 2,447.

The government statistics include everyone who has officially tested positive for coronavirus after having a test, whereas the National Records of Scotland include all those who have coronavirus mentioned on the death certificate.

The NRS have said that 4,000 people in Scotland have died from coronavirus.
