14 new Covid-19 deaths brings Scottish Government total to 2,409

Fourteen people in Scotland have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to data released by the Scottish Government.

This brings the total number of deaths from Covid-19 in Scotland to 2,409.

Speaking at her daily news briefing on Friday, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed 15,582 people have tested positive for Covid-19 - an increase of 29 from yesterday.

995 patients are in hospital with a suspected or confirmed case (down 26), with 23 being treated in intensive care (down five).

Ms Sturgeon said that 3,778 people have been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for the virus since 5 March.
