24 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the NHS Lothian board area in the past 24 hours, as the death toll in Scotland increased by 5.

The total number of COVID-19 hospital deaths in Scotland is now 1,576, according to the Scottish Government.

There are 2,113 confirmed cases in the Lothians as of Monday afternoon with 327 patients being treated in hospital and 14 in intensive care.

Authorities also confirmed that 12,266 people across the nation had now tested positive for the virus - an increase of 169 since yesterday.

On 3 May there was 1,949 tests carried out by NHS Scotland in hospitals, care homes or the community, making a total of 81,840 COVID-19 tests through NHS labs to date.

In addition, there were 1,552 drive through and mobile tests carried out by the Regional Testing Centres in Scotland bringing the total to 16,446 tests to date.
