A CANNY car seller in Corstorphine is hoping for a quick sale - by marketing his Ford KA as a covid-19 escape vehicle.

The tongue-in-cheek ad posted online suggests the 1.3 litre 2005 model is the perfect getaway during the crisis.

And it assures any prospective buyer that the £725 five-seater has plenty of room for social distancing.

"If times get hard and the infected are all around you and you need to get away to the countryside just to breathe, then this Ford KA style 5 seater 3 door car will do the job for you," reads the Gumtree ad.

"Also can be used to pick up corona supplies for self isolation and you can social distance in the car by sitting on the opposite corner of the car from the driver.

"This little Ford KA for sale well looked after and serviced, starts and drives like a new car, ready to drive away (won’t break down when you need it most)."

The runabout has 70,000 miles on the clock, an MOT until next January and boasts power steering, electric windows and a CD player.
