Coronavirus in NHS Lothian: confirmed cases rise to 2,584 as hospitalisations fall

There are now 2,584 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Lothians, new figures from the Scottish government show.
That number is an increase of nine on the figure reported 24 hours ago.

Hide AdThere has been a slight fall in the number of people being treated in NHS Lothian hospitals since yesterday – the figure now stands at 183, down from 187 on Tuesday.
However, the number of patients with confirmed or suspected Covid-19 in the region has risen to eight. Yesterday the figure was reported to have been fewer than five.
It comes as the Scottish government confirmed that 14,751 people had tested positive for the virus across the country, and said that the death toll of people with confirmed Covid-19 now stood at 2,184.
Most NHS health boards in Scotland have reported a slight increase in hospitalisations since yesterday.
