Coronavirus in the Lothians: latest figures from Scottish government revealed

There are now 2,706 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the NHS Lothian region, according to new figures from the Scottish government.

There are 155 people with confirmed or suspected Covid-19 in Lothian hospitals, and now just nine patients in intensive care.

According to the figures released this afternoon, 735 Scots were in hospital last night - 25 of whom were in intensive care, with another 8 with suspected COVID-19 in intensive care.

A total of 112,984 people in Scotland have been tested for the virus, with 15,382 positive results as of today.

2,353 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in Scotland to date, but 3,678 inpatients have been discharged from Scottish hospitals since March 5 this year.

The full breakdown of confirmed cases in NHS Scotland health boards is as follows:

Ayrshire and Arran - 1,058

Borders - 325

Dumfries and Galloway - 260

Fife - 834

Forth Valley - 924

Grampian - 1,273

Greater Glasgow and Clyde - 3,943

Highland - 337

Lanarkshire - 1,984

Lothian - 2,706

Orkney - 8

Shetland - 54

Tayside - 1,670

Eileanan Siar (Western Isles) - 6
