Eager Edinburgh diners can now find the best independent restaurants in the Capital that are taking part in the East out to Help out scheme.

The government scheme will allow patrons to get 50% of food bills if they are dining on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday throughout August.

There is no limit on how often the public can take advantage of this scheme, and no vouchers are required, though it does not include a discount on alcoholic drinks.

With the famous festival no longer taking place, many local businesses are taking a serious hit with loss of clientele.
