Midlothian Covid rate stays low
Midlothian recorded just two positive Covid-19 tests in the last week of April, giving the county a positivity rate of just 0.2 per cent for the second week in a row.
With nearly two-thirds of the county’s population already given their first vaccination jab, and one in four having received the second one, the county’s new Covid cases have dropped dramatically.
Daily figures released by Public Health Scotland for Monday saw no new cases recorded in East Lothian at all and just two in Midlothian
Across Scotland there were 271 positive cases recorded on Monday (May 3), with no new deaths or hospital admissions.
No new deaths have been recorded in Midlothian or East Lothian in the last seven days up to May 3.
The total number of deaths recorded since March last year of residents who died within 28 days of a positive Covid test were 155 for Midlothian and 111 for East Lothian.
