My life in lockdown: Gail Porter talks non-stop cleaning, making jewellery, and dancing in her front room

An in-demand TV presenter and model, the former Portobello High School pupil famously helped shift over a million copies of lads bible FHM after they projected her naked image onto the Houses of Parliament.

In a BBC documentary broadcast in January, Gail opened up about two decades of mental health struggles, which culminated in her being held against her will (she was clinically sectioned) for 28 days in a London hospital in 2011.

Today, London-based Gail is a passionate and recognised mental health campaigner, working with the likes of Mind, Samaritans and Bipolar Scotland.

In the third in our exclusive series - with more famous names to come - the Evening News caught up with Gail to find out how she is coping under lockdown.

What is the best thing about lockdown?

The best thing about lockdown is my flat is blooming gleaming. Can’t stop cleaning.

What is the worst?

The worst thing is human contact. I am a hugger.

Have you been more creative during lockdown?

I’ve been writing more and attempting to make jewellery for the Great Frog in London.

What’s your exercise routine?

My exercise routine is Zumba and dancing in my front room.

What’s the first thing you plan to do when the restrictions are lifted?

First thing after lockdown...hunt down someone that fancies having sex.
