Positive coronavirus cases confirmed at Leith Primary School

A coronavirus outbreak has been confirmed at Leith Primary School, with several members of staff believed to be self-isolating.

The school, which consists of around 430 children, will remain open.

The outbreak has not caused the school any operational issues and it will continue following the same social distancing measures already in place.

The number of positive-tests among staff has not been confirmed.

A council spokesperson said: “We are working with NHS Lothian’s Health Protection team and parents and the wider school community have been provided with information and reassurance.

"We know that this occurrence may cause concern to some parents and children but we will continue to monitor the situation and follow the advice provided.”
