Ten Edinburgh areas that recorded the fewest coronavirus cases between December 5 and December 11

Data from the Scottish Government shows that these ten areas recorded the fewest coronavirus cases in Edinburgh between December 5 and December 11.

This data from Public Health Scotland gives a breakdown of the number of cases per region across the whole country and includes the population of each area for context.

Previously the information for areas on the lower end of the scale was presented in the form of areas with no cases and areas with ‘1-4’ coronavirus cases. This has been adjusted to protect the identities of the individuals who tested positive for the virus.

When an area has fewer than three cases it is now presented as ‘0-2’. This list has been ordered according to population, with the highest populations featuring first.

All areas on this list come under the ‘0-2’ category.

Not included in this list, the worst hit area in Edinburgh is Jewel, Brunstane and Newcraighall with 16 new cases reported over the last week.

This data is from December 5 and December 11.

Over this seven day period, 527 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the City of Edinburgh, that’s 100.4 cases per 100,000 population.
