When is Nicola Sturgeon's daily coronavirus briefing on Friday? What time will the Scottish Government issue the latest Covid-19 figures today?

She will be joined by National Clinical Director Jason Leitch and Police Scotland Chief Constable Iain Livingstone.

Ms Sturgeon will speak at St Andrew's House today to deliver the latest statistics on the Covid-19 pandemic in Scotland.

Coverage will shown on BBC One Scotland from 1.30pm today.

Today's conference comes as her own government criticised the UK government for giving mixed messages over lockdown.

Earlier on Friday, John Swinney attacked the way the UK Government has communicated plans for lockdown easing, saying Prime Minister Boris Johnson has given "entirely the wrong message".

The Deputy First Minister was speaking on the BBC's Good Morning Scotland radio programme on Friday when said he hopes Scotland and the UK can remain in lockstep over lockdown measures.

Mr Swinney branded messages coming from Westminster to English media as "disastrous" and a "foolish mistake to be made".

Yesterday, Ms Sturgeon insisted she would "not be pressured" into lifting the lockdown before she was certain that it was safe to do so.

The First Minister said "any significant easing up of restrictions would be very very risky", adding that the move would only be considered once she was "confident that the all-important R number is comfortably below 1".
