With rainy weather forecast for the next week, many residents and visitors enjoying staycations will be taking the opportunity to revisit the attractions forced to close their doors over the coronavirus lockdown.

The City Art Centre
The Market Street gallery opens on Saturday, May 15, with two exhibitions – ‘Bright Shadows: Scottish Art in the 1920s’ and ‘Charles H. Mackie: Colour and Light’. Entry is free and can be booked here.

The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Modern One
Modern One will open on Monday, May 16, for three days a week from Sunday-Tuesday, 10am-5pm. Free visits can be booked here.
The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Modern Two
Modern Two is now open 10-5pm daily for the Ray Harryhausen: Titan of Cinema exhibition. Tickets can be booked here.

The Portrait Gallery reopens on Monday, May 17, and will be welcoming visitors daily from 10am-5pm. Book a free ticket here.
The Fruitmarket Gallery
The gallery is closed for redevelopment and will be reopening on July 7.
The National Museum of Scotland
The Chambers Street Museum is open daily from 10am-4.30pm. The next temporary exhibition, ‘The Galloway Hoard: Viking-age Treasure’ opens on May 29. Free visits can be booked here.
Edinburgh Castle

National War Museum
The museum, in Edinburgh Castle, is open from 9.45am-4.45pm. Entry is included as part of admission to Edinburgh Castle.
Museum on the Mound
The museum dedicated to all things fiscal will reopen on June 1.
Dynamic Earth
The science museum will be open every weekend in May and June, from 10am-4pm each day. Tickets can be purchased here.
John Knox House
