Edinburgh named second best city for fine dining in Harden’s Best UK Restaurants 2020

Three fine dining destinations in Edinburgh have helped the Capital come out as the second best city in the UK for a slap up meal according to travel guide Harden’s.

The guide is over 29 years old and based on a curated survey of 50,000 reports from a national poll of 7,500 diners.

Edinburgh regained its title as Britain’s No.2 restaurant city outside London, judged both in terms of the total numbers of entries in the guide and in terms of the total top scoring entries for any single city.

The three rated restaurants in the 2020 guide are: Restaurant Martin Wishart at 31, 21212 at 60 and Number One at The Balmoral at 75.

Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles was the top placed Scottish restaurant at 28.

Chef Paul Kitching of 21212 said: “As 2019 and our tenth year on Royal Terrace comes to a close we are delighted to end it on a high as we celebrate being named as one of the top restaurants in the UK!
