Last year was tough - and 2021 hasn't been smooth sailing so far- so we have decided to celebrate some of the joy out there with our readers in the form of lockdown wedding pictures you have sent in.
Whether it’s delaying a wedding or even in some cases moving the date forward during the pandemic to brighten up life, here are the nuptial pictures newly wedded couples have shared with us.

1. Dramatic wedding views
After going through lockdown together, Aleksandra Kargul and partner Allan Williamson said the 'I do's' on the 27th December 2020 in Balmoral hotel- a day after Scotland moved into a tier 4. That left the pair without family and only a few witnesses, a photographer, a videographer and 10 foot christmas tree to bring in the big day. Nonetheless, both had 'the best day ever full of laughter and stories to remember with a sip from a hip flask on Carlton Hill' and getting their Wedding feast delivered by Just Eat to the Balmoral's reception (Photo: Andrew Weild). 2. Online lockdown lovebirds
Jacqui McClafferty and her partner Martin met online when lockdown started and it wasn't long before wedding bells began to chime. Martin, a frontline worker originally from Northern Ireland decided to move to Aberdeenshire to be with his digital soulmate and with a wedding party of just 8 the couple got married in Edinburgh at Marlins Wynd on Hogmanay to end the year on a positive note.
