Middleton Village Fete takes place this weekend, with org-anisers promising another fun-filled family day which even the rain can’t spoil.
Among the attractions on offer are pony rides supplied by Edinburgh and Lasswade Riding Centre, a bouncy castle, a bucking bronco and a kids fancy dress competition.
A parade will leave Borthwick Castle Place at 1.45pm on Saturday, August 23, to parade down Borthwick Castle Terrace to the park.
Carrie Bennett, vice-chairwoman of the village hall committee, revealed why she thinks people should go along.
She said: “It will be a fantastic family fun day. We will have pony rides, a bucking bronco, lots of stalls including a cake and candy stall. So people should come along as it will be a great day for all the family - just good fun.
“It’s usually well attended. We keep the rides as cheap as possible and our fancy dress competition is always popular. And we have got a fantastic hall to use in case it rains.
“The council are always fantastic for helping us too, with things like marquees.”
Middleton Village Fete is on Saturday, August 23, 2-4pm.
