Mr Basrai’s ready to reopen to Edinburgh diners

The busy buffet restaurant, on Dundee Street, will be kicking off with a new offer on all-you-can-eat options starting from £8.95.

“We’re really excited to be welcoming people back to the restaurant from Monday, 26 April, to enjoy our great range of freshly cooked food from our buffet,” says manager Marvin Pereira.

The global menu of healthy and high-quality food at Mr Basrai’s is perfect for any occasion, and there's something to please every diner. There's a wealth of sumptuous Indian dishes, with a contemporary twist on classics including aloo gobi, lamb madras and flavourful seekh kebab.

If you're in the mood for Chinese, Japanese or Thai, there's a huge variety of authentic options including delicious fresh sushi like the salmon, tuna and mixed pepper maki. Popular options include hot and crispy spring rolls, juicy crispy duck in hoisin sauce or beef in Massaman curry, along with sweet and sour chicken, lamb Penang and stir-fry vegetables. There's also the fantastic noodle bar bringing all the very best aromatic tastes of Asia straight to your table.

Salad lovers can make the most of the vibrant selection of vegetables and healthy side dishes like chicken Caesar salad, aubergine salad or artichoke and broccoli salad as well as the packed salad bar.

Or for the meat eaters, check out the tasty carvery along with a mouth-watering selection of chargrilled steaks, chicken and beef infused with the signature rich smokiness from the grill.

The team at Mr Basrai’s World Cuisines have been kept busy during lockdown with their takeaway service, but they’re all excited to be opening their doors in Fountain Park once again.

“We offer a whole range of world cuisines and our all-you-can-eat buffet is great value, with prices from £8.95 for lunch and £13.95 for dinner,” adds director Vikram Shekhawat.

“This is a family-run business, and we take a lot of pride in what we do here to offer Edinburgh great food from around the world.
