New Town French brasserie Café St Honoré reopens for takeaway on Monday

Scottish-French restaurant Café St Honoré are back in the kitchen and preparing to launch their takeaway service.

From Monday, Chef Director Neil Forbes alongside his head chef Joe will be serving up a selection of Cafe favourites to create a menu made with ingredients from their favourite local producers, plus a bottle of organic wine paired perfectly with the menu.

They will begin to take orders from Monday 29 June for collection from the restaurant on Thistle Street Lane on Thursday 2 July, Friday 3 July and Saturday 4 July between 4pm and 6pm.

The aim of their takeaway menu is for people to have a ‘proper Cafe experience and enjoy a long, relaxing meal’, so with this in mind the dishes have been created so those enjoying have to do as little as possible to assemble each course at home.

The three course menu for two people costs £67.50 and includes sourdough bread with a whipped crowdie and black pepper dip.

For starters, purchasers cab enjoy Belhaven smoked trout with heritage potato salad, horseradish, organic salad leaves and fennel, ahead of a main corse of confit Kype Muir duck leg, braised lentils, root vegetables and Peelham Farm organic salami.

On the side will be cabbage with Arran mustard and tarragon and there will be a dessert of organic lemon posset, Perthshire raspberries and shortbread flapjacks to enjoy with coffee.

The wine offering will be a choice of organic white – Les Quatre Cepages, Dom. de Pajot, 2018, Gascogne, France (O), or Red: Le P'tit Roubie, Dom.du Petit Roubie, 2018 Pays d'Herault, France.

The Cafe will be taking calls on 0131 226 2211 on Monday 29 June from 12pm until 3pm to order. Payment will be taken over the phone at the time of ordering.
