DALKEITH: The Carlton Club in Dalkeith has proved to be a lucky place for a West Lothian woman who has become its second National Bingo Game winner in less than two months. Linda Morecombe (47), who lives near Bathgate, won the National Bingo Game prize of £100,000 plus a further regional prize of £8,160 and the house prize of £77.
BONNYRIGG: Bonnyrigg and Lasswade Town Council will do all they can to stamp out over-charging in sub-lets of council houses. This was made clear at the council meeting on Monday when it was reported that a young couple who had their name on the housing list had been advised as to what steps they should take to have a reasonable rent fixed for the sub-let.
LOANHEAD: Residents from a Loanhead caravan park have been saved from paying two water rates. The 200 inhabitants form Pentland Park, Nivensknowe, had been notified that the site owner – Pentland Mark Marine Ltd – was increasing the on-site water charge from 90p per home per week to 130p.
