PENICUIK: A major trade union has claimed that Reed Paper and Board only bought Cowan’s Valleyfield Mill, Penicuik, to strip it of its mercantile assets.


MIDLOTHIAN: Taxi fares in Midlothian are set to rise next month. A tariff increase proprosed by Midlothian Taxi Owners’ Association, was approved in principle by the district’s general purposes committee last week. The proposed tariff include an increase in the initial hire charge from 80p to 90p.
