DALHOUSIE: The new Dalhouse Bridge on the Bonnyrigg-Cockpen-Gorebridge road was officially opened for traffic on Wednesday. The estimated cost of the project is £156,000. There wasn’t any fanfare or ribbon cutting ceremony but travellers will appreciate the journey time-saving that the bridge will bring.

BONNYRIGG: Bonnyrigg people want the weekly open-air market, run by Spook Erections, to continue - despite opposition from Midlothian District Council. Since it was set up three months ago more and more people have been visiting the market behind the Regal Cinema on Thursdays.

BONNYRIGG: The site of the former Viewbank Nursery, Bonnyrigg, is to be sold by Midlothian District Council for housing. The council’s recreation and leisure committee last week agreed that the land which has been lying derelict for ten years, should be cleared and placed on the market.
