Here is your weekly round-up of crime in Midlothian, for February 1-7, as reported by Police Scotland.

DALKEITH:

On Tuesday, February 2, a 27-year old woman was issued with a recorded police warning for a driving license offence after being stopped on Lauder Road, Dalkeith.

On Wednesday, February 3, officers attended Tait Street, Dalkeith in regards to a man issuing threats. A 29-year-old man was subsequently charged with using threatening and abusive behaviour and released from police custody with special bail conditions.

On Thursday, February 4, officers attended Tesco, Dalkeith in relation to reports of a male shoplifter. A 32-year-old man was subsequently charged and a report submitted to the courts.

On Friday, February 5, officers were called to Dalkeith town centre in relation to youths causing issues. Officers attended and two 14 year old females, a 16 year old female and a 25 year old female were all charged with culpable and reckless conduct due to having previously been warned regarding the regulations.

On Saturday, February 6, officers attended an address in Newbattle Abbey Crescent, Dalkeith in relation to a bail curfew check. A 21 Year old man was arrested and charged with breaching his bail curfew the previous evening and was held in custody to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

NEWTONGRANGE / MAYFIELD:

On Thursday, February 4, at Reed Drive, Newtongrange a 37-year-old man was arrested for breaching his bail conditions. He was held in police custody to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

On Wednesday, February 3, officers observed a vehicle driving on Stobhill Road, Gorebridge with no insurance and no MOT. Further checks established the 38-year-old female driver did not hold a substantive driving license. The vehicle was seized and a report has been submitted to the courts.

On Saturday, February 6, officers were asked to attend an address in Hillside Crescent South, Gorebridge in relation to a house party. Officers arrived and the party was dispersed with everyone warned regarding the legislation. The 24 year old female occupier was charged with Culpable and Reckless conduct due to previously being warned and having already been issued a fixed penalty ticket.

BONNYRIGG:

On Friday, February 5, officers were asked to attend Sherwood Court, Bonnyrigg in relation to an ongoing disturbance. A 17 Year old woman was verbally abusive, refused to desist, and assaulted an officer. She was arrested and charged with assaulting police officers and resisting arrest. She was held in police custody until sober and released to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.

On Friday, February 5, officers attended an address at Waverly Park, Bonnyrigg to carry out a bail curfew check on a 21 year old man. He was not within the address. Officers later traced him and he was arrested and charged with breaching his bail curfew and held in police custody to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

PENICUIK:

On Monday, February 1, police were requested to attend Imrie Place, Penicuik in response to a report of a disturbance. A 47-year-old man was traced and charged with using threatening and abusive behaviour and possession of a bladed article.

On Monday, February 1, three youths were traced on Edinburgh Road, Penicuik. They were cautioned and charged with behaving in a culpable and reckless manner and taken back to their home addresses.
