Here is your weekly round-up of crime in Midlothian, for February 15-21, as reported by Police Scotland.

DALKEITH:

On February 21 officers attended at address in Woodburn Park in relation to a man who had been assaulted. Upon arrival officers were met by an aggressive 42-year-old man who proceeded to assault three police officers. The man was arrested and charged with assault, resisting arrest and police assault.

NEWTONGRANGE / MAYFIELD:

On February 15, officers attended an address in Keir Hardie Drive, Mayfield and became aware of an on-going party. Officers had attended the same address the previous day in relation to a similar incident. The 31-year-old female occupant was arrested and charged with culpable and reckless conduct. She was released from custody with special bail conditions. A further three Covid tickets were issued to those found within the property for breach of Covid regulations.

On February 18, traffic officers responded to reports of a woman driving under the influence of alcohol. Officers traced the vehicle to Old School Crescent, Mayfield where the woman failed a roadside breath test. She was subsequently arrested and charged with drink driving.

On February 19, officers responded to reports of a man driving dangerously on Blackcot Road, Mayfield. A 37-year-old man was thereafter charged with a number of traffic offences including drink-driving and driving with no insurance. He was released from custody to appear at court at a later date.

GOREBRIDGE:

On February 18 officers attended reports of a man trying to open car doors within the grounds of a Gorebridge medical practice. Officers traced a 30-year-old man, who was charged in relation to the offence. He was also charged with acting in a threatening and abusive manner towards police.

On February 19, on Braeside Road North, Gorebridge, a 30-year-old man was arrested after failing a roadside breath test. He was thereafter charged with drink-driving.

BONNYRIGG:

On February 18, officers attended the Sherwood area of Bonnyrigg in relation to reports of a man with a knife. A 47-year-old man was traced and charged for possessing a knife along with a breach of bail. He was held in police custody to appear at court the following day.

LOANHEAD:

On February 16, officers responded to reports of an on-going party within the Kennington Avenue area. The occupier of the address, a 42-year-old man, was charged with culpable and reckless conduct. Two other persons found within the address were issued Covid tickets for breaching regulations.

On February 16, officer attended an address on Lawrie Terrace, Loanhead in relation to a Covid breach. It was established that two men within the property had travelled from London. One man was charged with culpable and reckless behaviour whilst another two men were issued with Covid tickets for breaching regulations.

PENICUIK:

On February 17, traffic officers observed a 40-year-old man driving on Eastfield Drive, Penicuik without insurance. The man was also a disqualified driver. The vehicle was seized and a report was submitted to the courts.

On February 19, officers responded to reports of a number of youths causing a disturbance on John Street. A 14-year-old male was subsequently traced, taken home and charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon.
