DALKEITH:

On February 26, officers observed a man driving with no insurance on Eskbank Road. The 21-year-old man was charged with driving with no insurance and for failing to display L-pates whilst a provisional driver.

On February 26, officers were in the area of Eskbank Road due to ongoing youth issues. A large group of female youths were dispersed. A 16-year-old female became abusive and assaulted a police officer. She was arrested for police assault and released from police custody with special bail conditions. Enquiries are continuing in respect of identifying further offenders and offences.

On February 27, officers attended Kings Park, Eskbank in relation to a large group of anti-social youths. A quantity of alcohol was seized. A 14-year-old female assaulted a police officer and was conveyed home and charged in the presence of her parents. A 17-year-old male was charged with behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.

NEWTONGRANGE / MAYFIELD:

On February 23 officers carried out a check on a moving vehicle on Bogwood Road, Mayfield, which was subsequently found to have no insurance. The 23-year-old woman driver was subsequently charged for driving with no insurance.

On February 24, officers searched a 19-year-old man in relation to drug offences on Stone Place, Mayfield. The man was found in possession of cannabis and was issued with a recorded police warning.

On February 24, officers stopped a 24-year-old woman driver for failing to observe traffic signals on Bogwood Road, Mayfield. She was issued with and accepted a conditional offer.

On February 25, officers attended an address in Blackcot Avenue, Mayfield in relation to an ongoing disturbance. A 29-year-old woman was traced whereby she was aggressive with officers. She was arrested and charged with assault, possession of a bladed article and resisting arrest. She was held in police custody to appear at court the following day.

On February 26, traffic officers attended reports of a man driving whilst intoxicated. The car was traced on Main Street, Newtongrange after colliding with another vehicle. A 70-year-old man was thereafter charged with driving whilst unfit due to drink/drugs. A report was submitted to the courts.

GOREBRIDGE:

On February 26, officers responded to a call from an aggressive man. The 20-year-old man was traced to Hillside Crescent North whereby he was in possession of an offensive weapon. He was thereafter arrested and charged with possession of an offensive weapon and acting in a threatening and abusive manner. He was released from police custody with special bail conditions.

BONNYRIGG:

On Thursday, February 25, officers attended reports on a disturbance at an address in Sherwood Court. A 17-year-old woman was subsequently charged in connection with the incident.

LOANHEAD:

On Thursday, February 25, officers received a report of a man driving whilst intoxicated in the Wheatfield Loan area of Loanhead. Officers traced the vehicle and a 20-year-old man. The man failed the roadside breath test and was arrested. He was charged in connection with various road traffic offences.

PENICUIK:

On Wednesday, February 24, on Edinburgh Road, Penicuik a 34-year-old man was arrested for breaching his bail conditions. He was held in police custody to appear at court the next day.
