£2.13m boost for housing in Midlothian

Midlothian Council has agreed to allocate £2.13m to provide affordable homes for local residents.

It is proposed that £1.605m of the funds will be allocated to Melville Housing Association and Dunedin Canmore Housing Association. The remaining £525,000 will be used to directly support the council’s own social housing programme.

This funding is in addition to the plans for Council House Build Phase 2.

The funds have been allocated for a three-year period from 2012/13 to 2014/15 and will be used to build 122 affordablehomes for Midlothian residents.
