Dalkeith’s Gillian Thomson (28) was all smiles after graduating from Sandhurst to become an Army Reserve Officer.
She recently took part in a ceremonial parade in front of family and friends to mark the completion of a demanding leadership course which made her live up to the Army’s motto ‘Be the Best’.
She said: “The level of instruction was incredibly high. The instructors have a wealth of experience, and there is a purpose behind each activity, but they all want you to succeed.
“I feel a huge sense of achievement.
“It’s been hard work balancing my civilian life with my military life, and to finally be here is just an amazing feeling.”
