A dim view of Dalkeith chippy

A DALKEITH chip shop owner has been told to turn down the fascia lighting at his premises.

Complaints from neighbours about the blue neon glare at Jaz’s Fish Bar have prompted Midlothian Council to take action over its late hours catering licence.

The council’s general purposes committee decided to grant the application by Ali Zarar, but instructed him to work with environmental health officials to make external lighting at the Woodburn Road chip shop less intensive.
