Strictly Come Dancing (BBC One, Friday)
What’s It All About? Thanks to the one-off launch show a couple of weeks ago, we now know which celebs are competing in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
We also know who’s been paired with which professional dancer – Ashley Taylor Dawson was clearly pleased with the draw, going into a fake swoon when he discovered he’d be sharing a training room with Ola Jordan.
And if any of the pros were disappointed with the hand they’d been dealt, they were much too polite to show it.
But one big question remains; are they any good?
It was rather difficult to work out from that group opening number, while the stars have all been busy talking down their chances.
Now, at last, we’ll finally find out who was being endearingly self-deprecating and who was telling the truth, as Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly introduce the first six celebs who will be taking to the floor.
And the rest of the class of 2013 will be strutting their stuff on Saturday night.
Look Out For: The marks from judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell. There’s no public vote this weekend, but the scores will be carried over.
Contestant and Hairy Biker Dave Myers says: “It’s funny, I can go to a party and strut my stuff and fling myself around and not get too knackered, but I went on a cruise a couple of years ago and went to a few of the ballroom dancing nights and felt really inadequate.”
