Adventure playground gets a new lease of life
A PLAYGROUND for children with additional support needs is set to have its future secured by being granted a new 20-year lease.
The Scotland Yard Adventure Centre, a charity that is the only facility of its kind in Scotland, leases an irregularly-shaped site on Eyre Place Lane from the city council.
It was first granted a 25-year lease in 1989 and has built a clubhouse/office facility with an activity room, playroom, art room, quiet room, office, kitchen and toilets at its own expense.

Hide AdIt also receives £119,000 annual grant funding from the council.
The charity needs to carry out drainage works on the site and council chiefs have proposed terminating its existing £375-a-year lease, due to expire in 2014, and replacing it with a new £1-a-year lease.
